Mark and Bea's Renovation

Mark and Bea’s 1890's farmhouse was completely transformed and modernized to bring the functionality into the 21st century while maintaining the style and incredible views of the Hudson River. With designs from Balzer and Tuck Architecture, C & J just completed a full renovation of this space to eliminate multiple issues in both the structure and design of the original home. The front entry was rebuilt to work better with the style and layout of the driveway and kitchen. Beams and columns were added to repair dangerous conditions and prevent future issues. Keeping in theme with the original house, C & J built custom trim work and built-ins adding a touch of style to the rooms. All bathrooms were also renovated with custom showers and tile work. To address the inefficiencies, a new geothermal heating and cooling system was installed along with solar panels and spray foam insulation on the entire house. Smart technology was also integrated to give the customer control of these systems from anywhere anytime. On the outside, with the help of Young Landscapes LLC, retaining walls, patios, underground drainage, and a hardscape driveway was installed to prevent future water issues and allow the outdoor spaces to be used better with the home and surrounding scenery.

Shannon's Basement

Shannon wanted to utilize unused space in her home and create a place where the family could hang out or have guests. C & J designed and finished 1,200 square feet of her basement, complete with a family room, play room, exercise room, bathroom and bar. In the main areas, we finished the basement with bamboo flooring, custom trim and built in cabinetry. We also installed a full bathroom with tile floors and shower. Custom cabinets and quartz counters were installed in the bar area complete with a sink, refrigerator and wine racks. Finally, rubberized flooring was installed in the exercise room to give the feel of a professional gym. By making use of an unfinished area, we were able to create a true home away from home feel.

Ben and Mary's Back Yard

Ben and Mary have been working on creating their dream back yard for spending time with family and a place to host get-togethers. Along with the in-ground pool they wanted space to add their hot tub, a place to relax and large deck attached to the house. To accomplish their vision C & J installed this 650 square foot Custom Trex deck along with a pergola for their hot tub and accent lighting throughout. We also built a large pavilion, a design by Architex, with a gas fireplace, entertainment system and a cedar ceiling to encompass the feel of the outdoors. To tie all of the areas together, hardscapes and landscaping were installed by Young Landscapes LLC, creating a one of a kind outdoor living space.

Richard and Laurie's Renovation

C & J just completed another design by LEAP Architecture. Richard and Laurie wanted to bring a much brighter and more modern feel to their Master Bedroom, Master Bathroom, and Loft. We completely renovated their second floor, changing the floor plan, adding windows and doors, and installing streamline modern finishes to the space. The Master Bathroom includes a Floating Island Vanity, Fully Custom Shower, Custom Walnut Paneling and Built in Cabinetry in the closets. Throughout the renovated areas, frame-less doors and large windows were installed to add a sleek look and take full advantage of the beautiful landscapes.

Bernie and Linda's Kitchen

Bernie and Linda wanted to update their kitchen and utilize some space they were not using within the home. By removing walls C & J opened up the floor space to allow for a much larger kitchen area and Island. We also enhanced the style of the trim work with raised panels, and a built in siting area in front of the windows. The one of a kind material selections and design choices, made this a truly unique space within the home.

Thea and John's Basement

Thea and John wanted to create a space in the house to hang out, entertain and a place for guests to stay. C & J finished 1,850 square feet of their basement, complete with a full kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, family room, game room and storage. Each area was given it's own unique features. In  the family room and game room, custom trim work was installed with raised panels, a Crawford ceiling, and arches. The kitchen includes custom cabinetry, a butcher block island and tile backsplash. Finally a large bedroom was installed with a view of the landscape and it's own private entrance to the bathroom.

Ken and Cindy's Home

Ken and Cindy lost their home to a devastating fire that originated in the kitchen. The original house was damaged beyond repair. C & J removed the debris and helped Ken and Cindy to design the home of their dreams. This 2,800 square foot colonial combines an open floor plan with a rustic look that fits with the wooded landscape of their property. It contains a large kitchen and island that is opened to a dining area and large great room with high ceilings. The fireplace is a high efficiency wood burning stove and cultured stone chimney. The 1st floor is also complete with an office and 3/4 bathroom. Upstairs the balcony views the great room and fireplace. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and a laundry room. Outside a large back deck and front porch were installed to enjoy the beautiful landscape surrounding this Amsterdam home.

James and Heather's Fireplace

James and Heather added this Accucraft gas fireplace to their Latham home. This unit is ten feet long and weighs in at 3,000 pounds. C & J installed beams in the subfloor to support the weight and completely enclosed the unit with tile and a quartz top. We also added an area for the television and entertainment center.

Mike's Addition

Mike was looking to bring an innovative and modern feel to his house. Working with designer Eric Davenport of LEAP Architecture we brought an ultra-modern California feel to this 1950's ranch. By adding a second floor, removing walls and installing full length windows, we created a bright and open feel to this once compartmentalized house. Each room was given its own unique features including a floating kitchen island, an indoor/outdoor see through fireplace, walk through shower and custom built in cabinetry. The creative details and streamline design make this one of our most modern projects to date.

Chris's Addition

Chris was looking to update and increase the size of his Master Bedroom and Downstairs Rec areas. C & J added a large addition and renovated much of the existing floor space adding and remodeling about 1800 square feet of his home. Sitting on Ballston Lake we wanted to capture the feel of the beautiful landscape and maintain essence of being at the lake. We installed fully custom raised panel trim work, custom seating and a built-in bar area. His downstairs piano and pool rooms were finished with heated porcelain tile floors for a comfortable feel and a fully functional wine room for hosting guests. With the lakeside view large windows and remote control blinds were installed in the master bedroom to enjoy the landscape. It was finished with cherry hardwood floors, two walkin closets and a master bathroom with a fully custom shower.
